Pay it Forward
Happy Friday everyone! I’m feeling low on budgeting updates and/or tips for y’all today (I botched my no-spend day yesterday with a $4 frozen yogurt – but it was delicious) so I thought it was an appropriate time to pass the Pay it Forward award.
FruGal was nice enough to award me a Pay it Forward yesterday. Quite honestly, its a challenge not to give it right back to her. If you aren’t already a regular reader of FruGal’s blog, you probably should be. Its an excellent read. Her Good FruGal/Bad FruGal post today had me giggling in my cube first thing this morning. The Bad FruGal part, of course.
According to the rules, I have to pay it forwards by awarding it to other personal finance blogs that I enjoy. The recipients can then:
1. Put the logo (above) on their blog
2. Add a link to the person who awarded it to them;
3. Nominate at least 5 other blogs;
4. Add links to these blogs on your blog – don’t forget this step. This is great free advertising!
5. Leave a message for your award recipient on their blog.
(Please note that this is all done in the spirit of fun. There is no obligation.)
Now the fun part: nominating 5 blogs that I really enjoy.
I am still fairly new to the pf blogger community – but have been enjoying getting to know other bloggers quite a bit. The following blogs are those that I check in on the most often, or have been helpful/inspirational to me in some way. If you don’t know them already, check them out!
Money Maus is a 22 year old recent college grad trying to figure out her finances (while living across the street from Nordstrom!) while still finding room in her budget for a few of her favorites, travel and food. Money Maus and I share a love of travel, bcbgirls shoes and figuring out the post-grad world.
Krystal over at Give Me Back My Five Bucks was one of the first pf blogs I started reading, and was the reason I started mine. She eliminated over $17,000 of debt in ten months(!) and now is working towards saving. I related to her debt accumulation and elimination story and hope that I can be so successful.
With a name like Budgets are Sexy – I think that everyone already knows J. Not only is J’s blog informative and fun to read, he is great about following up on questions and giving advice. Rich is Rad, indeed.
I know that FruGal already gave her an award, but Holly and her quest to stop shopping are sooo one of my favorites right now, I can’t bear to not list her. She has inspired me to embark on a mini no shopping challenge and take it from there. E is stopping shopping October-December.
JB seems to always be there with bits of helpful advice or other posts of interest. He is working on budgeting with a family and working at saving for retirement over at Get Rich or Die Trying.
